Progressing City Solutions:
The plans over the next year are to progress the operational rollouts of the key initiatives in the first phase CUD cities. In addition the four new CUD Cities will be developing specific solutions, relevant to the opportunities and challenges in their Cities.
CUD is helping build strong partnerships with cities around the world, learn about the challenges and ideas that cities have in solving their problems, and build strong practices in the creation of private/public partnerships.
Solutions Toolkit
For all CUD Solutions, a Solutions Toolkit to enable the thought leadership approach, and as a means to provide other cities with the tools to scale and capture the innovative approaches that have been used in CUD pilot solutions. The Value Case forms a crucial component of this Toolkit.
Success Factors/Metrics/Analysis
One key element of the CUD approach is the creation of a value case specific to each city. This involves modeling the city's priorities and the investments that each city is considering against a projected outcome. The application of this methodology ensures that the solutions generated by the program bring relevant, significant, and measurable results. Some of the success metrics modeled include:
- Decrease of Transport Demand (in terms of traffic volume)
- Increase of Transport Speed (in terms of traffic speed and throughput)
- Reduced tonnage of emissions: CO2, NOx, PM10
- Increased energy efficiency of buildings and of energy grids
- Increased efficiency of public transport: timeliness, safety, utilization rates
