Personal Travel Assistant Overview
ICT-enabled mobility solutions include the Personal Travel Assistant (PTA), a service designed to resolve complex, frustrating experiences within urban transportation environments. PTA integrates urban transportation services, experiences, and transactions, providing travel information and support in a convenient format through various information channels and devices (including PCs, mobile phones, and kiosks). PTA streamlines transactions, route selection, and “disruption management” (such as response to traffic congestion), and integrates with other services such as calendaring and social networking.
PTA is unique, due to its focus on citizens’ experiences across all forms of urban mobility, along with its visionary integration of Web 2.0 and social networking technologies. It synthesizes existing sources of information via a multichannel, Unified Communications-based services platform, providing up-to-date information on the most energy-efficient, rapid, and inexpensive methods of transportation.
PTA will be pilot-tested in Seoul and Amsterdam to take advantage of those cities many PTA-centric provisioned services, which can be easily integrated into PTA’s Web-based services model.

PTA Citizen System Vision: Experiences and Moments
Intent is to capture the user view, where PTA is used not just for travel, but as a way of life. It incorporates the concept of “moments” – working moments, social moments, travel moments, etc

PTA provides Citizen’s with an integrated and seamless experience that brings together many aspects of their life, whether they are travel moments, working moments, or personal/social moments. The system aims to provision an interactive, aggregated, and decision support approach to the day to day moments of their life that occurs as they live, work, and play in City Urban areas. We would like to replicate the Social Network experiences (MySpace, FaceBook, Google Mash ups, etc) for how citizens travel, participate, and work on a day to day basis with the goal of carbon reduction.
